Special Wednesday Event: Prayer for the World

What: Prayer for the World: Global Resource Flows & Youth Migration Worldwide
When: Wednesday, Feb 25, 2026 @ 5:30 – 7:00 pm (EST)

You’re warmly invited to a Special Welcome Wednesday: Prayer for the World Gathering with Nancy Benjamin, PhD., a fellow Christian Scientist from a local area branch church in our Reading Room.

Nancy is an economic development specialist. She will discuss global resource flow and a spiritual response to its economic effects on young migrants worldwide. Light snacks will be provided Onsite. Kindly RSVP by 2:00 PM on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

Welcome Wednesday gathering is just prior to the Wednesday Evening Meeting held at 7:30 pm upstairs in the Church. All are welcome.

Nancy Benjamin is an economic researcher associated with the Development Policy Research Unit (DPRU) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She was previously a Senior Economist at the World Bank. Following a PhD in economics from the University of California at Berkeley, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University, in the Asia-Pacific Department of the IMF, and in the Research Department of the US International Trade Commission. She has published articles on informal firms in Africa, resource-rich countries, the impact of trade policy on productivity and growth, non-tariff barriers, and trade in services.

Natural resources tend to flow from developing areas to more industrialized regions of the world. Energy, Fisheries, Rare Earth Minerals, etc. are highly sought after and moved around worldwide. Apparently, youth migration tracks the flow of resources for economic opportunities. However, young migrants get ‘no entry’ in most destinations. Is there a response that meets the needs of humanity in all?
