Everyone loves the feeling of being in a safe, loving home, but what if you’re struggling to find yours? This week’s guest shares some things he’s learned from Christian Science about how to approach finding a new home or dealing with the loss of one.
Dear Friends,
Home is a place that is dear to each one of us, a special place to call one’s own. Many enjoy that. Many do not. Some in our communities don’t have a home or some have lost their homes, due to mental health, eviction, hurricane, fire, or other disasters.
How can one help their neighbor with this challenge? How would we respond to questions raised in this week’s program?
- How can one listen to God’s answer for each individual? How can one silence the distractions to solutions Love is providing today?
- How does one handle the anxiety of moving, change, new situations?
- How can one help those in urgent need of shelter?
- Is the Bible relevant? Is the experience of the Hebrew people helpful?
- What is the mental, emotional, physical, spiritual sense of home?
- What is the permanent sense of “home?”
The mobile Reading Room that was located by a DC homeless facility several times this summer. Several copies of Science and Health were shared there, with those in need of a home. See reports of that activity.
How can one further share blessings and practical solutions to homelessness in our community?
This 30-minute podcast about “Home” is always available online to listen at your convenience, as well as all past programs and many other audio recordings to support your prayers for the DC community.
This week’s full edition of the Christian Science Sentinel is also available in print and audio formats. The lead article addresses the related issue of loneliness with the true recognition of everyone’s spiritual nature and place
…we live right now in the kingdom of heaven, where we always belong.
In addition to these online resources, there are Reading Rooms in the metropolitan area where you can talk with someone in person about the spiritual ideas in this Sentinel publication. Or you can call 240-935-8697 to discuss these ideas.
