SentinelWatch podcast gathering — 4pm today only — and other news

Sunflower with butterfly

Most everyone has experienced hardship at one time or another and we’ve all seen it in our communities and world. How can we support others if we feel like we don’t have much to give? This week’s guest shares how she learned that giving to others is truly a spiritual act that benefits and rewards everyone involved.

As we listen today, we’ll consider the statement:

Giving does not impoverish us in the service of our Maker, neither does withholding enrich us.  (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 79)

How does true giving help the giver as well as the recipient?

Join us today at 4 pm ET to listen to the current podcast. (NOTE the time change for today’s program.)

Tuesday, October 24

Please MUTE yourself during the program. (Press *6 if you are listening by phone. This will UNMUTE you as well.)

Dear Friends,

This week’s podcast about serving others is complimented by the editorial in the current issue of Christian Science Sentinel which continues the recent focus on prayer that goes “beyond the borders of [our] own lives.”

Read the new section on the Christian Science Publishing Society website for all to share prayers about Israel and Hamas, expanding our prayers to include our world neighbors.  A local Christian Scientist shares his prayer about this on his website https://bruceslawter.com/2023/10/18/perspective-and-peace/.  Meanwhile, the Christian Science Monitor continues in depth coverage of both Ukraine and Gaza events and other trends around the globe.

If you have questions about this or any event or Christian Science products, please contact the Reading Room by email at jmrr.dc@gmail.com or call 240-935-8697.  We look forward to having you and your friends join us.
